CareRinger is now providing daily calls for seniors to check in and a button device for added reassurance. You can alert your loved ones when you may need their help, or check in by simply clicking the button. With this “Reassurance Button” in your hand, you are in control of your check-in calls.

    Here is how it works:

  • At the click of the button, CareRinger schedules a check-in call at some future time of your choice. CareRinger will call to check in and notify the designated contacts by phone, text or email if the call is not answered.
  • Otherwise, If the call is no longer needed, a LONG press of the button (2-5 seconds) will remove the scheduled call for you.
  • If you are already receiving daily calls from CareRinger, you will appreciate using this LONG press of the button to respond to the calls, without having to pick up the phone to acknowledge your well-being every time.

A CISCOR check-in button in a senior housing community

Years ago, I noticed that some senior housing communities had one or more wired-buttons installed for their residents to communicate with their attendants in case they need help. For communities retrofitting a building with such wired-buttons is expensive, if not impossible, and is difficult to maintain. Since the Reassurance Button works with a wi-fi network, wiring and re-wiring is not required for its installation. Additional buttons can easily be placed anywhere in a home – such as the bathroom – where people don’t usually carry their phone or a PERS device (i.e., a panic button) with them. Thus, seniors and their support person can focus on the placement of the buttons to keep them safe, and less on the technicality of the equipment in consideration.

An integrated 1-Click device with Amazon AWS Support
This application is based on the Amazon© AWS 1-click button which has not been integrated with a check-in call service like CareRinger to provide the added reassurance until now. The button operates on battery power rated at 100,000 clicks per charge. Thus, unlike the cell phone, it seldom needs re-charging.
